According to a survey released on Monday, the Turkish tourism industry, which welcomes millions of tourists annually from all over the world, wants to use TV shows to reach a variety of viewers.
According to an Anadolu Agency (AA) article, the Culture and Tourism Ministry has expanded its global promotional campaigns to include Turkish series in partnership with the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).
The research referenced a miniseries that shows Antalya, a well-known tourist location that, along with Istanbul, draws the most visitors to the nation.
A 10-episode mini-series created by the Culture and Tourism Ministry centers on Antalya, which has emerged as a major global tourism brand.
“Antalya Gambit,” the title of the mini-series, was made available to the public on the Go-Turkey YouTube channel.
The series, which stars renowned Turkish actors Kaan Urgancıoğlu and Meryem Uzerli, highlights Antalya’s attractiveness and rich historical legacy in addition to its breathtaking blues.
The Mediterranean Tourist Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) president and TGA board member Kaan Kaşif Kavaloğlu told AA that the organization invests a lot of money in its marketing initiatives.
He noted that one of the sectors where these promotional efforts are concentrated is the TV series industry.
“A lot of people who have been impacted by different series change their travel plans to the areas where these shows were shot.
After the United States, Turkey is among the nations that export the most TV shows,” he stated.
“The international viewership of these series, especially with tourism elements featured in them, will provide a significant contribution to tourism,” he stated.
In addition to providing significant job possibilities, the tourism industry is one of the main drivers of the Turkish economy.
With 56.7 million international visitors in 2024, Turkey ranked fourth in the world for tourism, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s May 2025 World Tourism Barometer.
Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism, stated on Monday.
