Several people were held captive within a tunnel after terrorists attacked the Jaffar Express, a passenger train passing through Balochistan’s Bolan Pass, according to security sources on Tuesday.
According to security officials, 13 terrorists have been killed and multiple others have been injured in the continuing operation linked to the Jaffar Express attack.
Security forces and the terrorists, who have been divided into smaller groups as a result of the operation, are fighting back and forth. Security sources reported that injured passengers were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The operation will continue until the last terrorist is killed, according to sources who confirmed that the noose has been tightened around the terrorists.
The goal of security forces is to successfully resolve the crisis and guarantee the safety of all hostages. Security sources claim that after stopping the Jaffar Express within Tunnel No. 8, the assailants took over the train and held its occupants hostage.
Security personnel have quickly surrounded the place and launched a clearance operation to neutralize the terrorists and liberate the captives, despite the difficult terrain and the remote location.
