Pakistan–China Warrior-IX Joint Military Exercise Begins, Marking Another Milestone in Defence Cooperation

The Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China have officially begun the Warrior-IX joint counterterrorism exercise, taking place from 28 November to 14 December 2025.

As the ninth edition in this annual series, Warrior-IX reflects the deep-rooted defence partnership between the two nations, often referred to as Iron Brothers.

Held at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), Pabbi, the exercise aims to boost operational readiness, enhance interoperability, and improve collaborative counterterrorism capabilities of both militaries.

Distinguished Visitors Day at NCTC Pabbi

On 11 December 2025, a special Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) ceremony was organized at the training site.

The event was graced by His Excellency Mr. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of China to Pakistan, who served as the Chief Guest.

Senior dignitaries from China also attended the occasion.The Chief of General Staff, Pakistan Army, participated as the Guest of Honour.

During the visit, the distinguished guests were briefed on the operational objectives, training modules, and strategic significance of Warrior-IX.

They also observed a series of high-intensity counterterrorism drills, showcasing advanced coordination, tactical precision, and professionalism of both forces.

Enhancing Counterterrorism Preparedness:

The exercise demonstrated multiple operational elements, including:

The impressive performance of troops from both sides highlighted their strong operational synergy and shared commitment to combating terrorism.
